Finally got the boat on the water

After two days of winter and staying in the RV Park at Buckboard Marina we were able to get the boat in the water for a beautiful day. I don't remember to many days on the Gorge with no wind. We found some 3-5 pound lake trout and some nice rainbows but couldn't find any Kokanee?
I was at the ramp yesterday when they the Fish and Game unloaded 170,000 Kokanee into the lake. Two hours later I caught a rainbow and when I cleaed it, I found eleven of the kokanee inside.
Ready for the Villa Fishing Derby and hope to find the Kokes.

I just got off the phone with Loretta at the buckboard marina and she said the ice is off and boats are launching.

My First Post of 2010

I am starting a new blog this year for Buckboard Marina, Flaming Gorge Wyoming. I've wanted to get some new web sites started and have been slow to start. I'm hoping by starting this blogspot (Buckboard Marina blogspot) will get me going on my website information also (http://www.buckboardmarina.com/). I have been camping at the Buckboard Marina the past few years during the Fishing Derby's at Flaming Gorge and have had great success on the Wyoming side of things and enjoyed the folks running the Marina (Les Tanner and Family).

I haven't been able to find much information on the Buckboard Marina, the fishing derby and/or what available in this area. My intention is start this blog and list the amenities available at the marina, where and when to fish for the best success and where to stay and play.
